Your plan may be changing — let’s make sure it still fits you
Hello, neighbor! It’s that time of year again — time to watch for an important piece of mail called your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC). It might look like just another envelope in the pile, but don’t be fooled — this one deserves your attention. Think of it as a special delivery from your Medicare Plan, arriving right on time.
What Is an ANOC?
Your ANOC is a letter from your current Medicare plan that tells you what will be changing with your plan for the coming year — things like:
Your monthly premium and copays
Your plan’s deductible or maximum out-of-pocket costs
The list of covered medications (formulary)
Which doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies are in your network
Any extras that might be added or removed (like dental, vision, hearing, OTC cards, or transportation)
Sometimes plans even terminate coverage altogether, which makes reading your ANOC especially important.
If you don’t look over your ANOC, you might be surprised by new costs or changes when January comes around. If you take just a few minutes to review it now, you can decide if your current plan will still fit your needs — or if it’s time to explore new options.
When to Take Action
If you decide you’d like to make a change, you can do so during the Annual Election Period (October 15 through December 7). If your plan still works well for you, you don’t have to do anything — it will simply roll over into the new year.
If you feel that you would like some professional guidance, just give me a call. I’ll be happy to help.
