Medicare’s annual election period is back! During this period, October 15 through December 7, anyone with Medicare can change their Medicare health plans and prescription drug coverage for the following year, starting in January. Medicare beneficiaries should review their Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) documents to find out if their plan is changing. Medicare health and drug plans can make changes each year to cost, benefits, coverage, and the plan’s network of providers and pharmacies. They can also cancel a plan and if people don’t read their ANOC or don’t understand, they may find themselves uninsured in January.
If you're happy with your current coverage, you're not required to make a change. Most times plans will automatically renew on January 1. However, now is the time to compare the current plan to others available in the area to determine if a change could be beneficial. Medicare beneficiaries can take advantage of the AEP to switch, enroll in, or disenroll from different Medicare plans. We can help you do all of that, and help you enroll, at no cost to you.
